The FHS Dance Department has implemented a new class, called Dance Wellness- a
class geared towards high school athletes to learn about the bodies working parts needed to succeed in sports, yoga, pilates basics, as well as injury prevention and injury repair. Our students complete a weekly reflection, taking pictures of their flexibility progress, as well as complete surveys and personal reflections from
the week, any injuries, preferred activities, and progress on their flexibility. In order to properly track this, using today's technology, we have created a Team Drive on
Google for each of our classes. There, they have their own folder, with each week, to upload and safely keep their photos. At the end of each semester, our
students will be able to look at all their photos, reflect, and create a flexibility reflection project to track their progress.
We are excited to ask for 5 iPads for our department, to assist in our student's productivity during class. In our class on reflection days, our students struggle with
connecting to the internet, loading Google Drive onto their phones, or not having a smartphone to complete the project. With the one iPad we do have, the students find themselves waiting in line to use it, thus cutting into the productivity of our class.
