Black lights provide a sensory experience for individuals who have visual sensory processing disorders. A blacklight area would be an updated addition to the Transition Center's sensory room. Students who have special needs often have a hard time sitting in traditional seating, the alert seats provide an alternative, giving the students the opportunity to move or bounce and often increases their ability to focus. In a classroom setting, students that have a sensory need are provided with the opportunity to move without disrupting others or losing focus on instruction. The seats support adults up to 350 lbs. and are covered in a durable cover. The alert seats also provide for opportunities to promote good support and posture. This grant is for a set of 2 seats.
